Scenarios (Pumpsimâ„¢ Advanced only)
Scenarios are a feature of Pumpsimâ„¢ Advanced and are used during the dynamic simulation in order to automatically trigger actions in the model. Many scenarios can be added to a simulation. You can choose which scenario to run from the main Scenarios form.
Adding Scenarios
Scenarios are used during the dynamic simulation to simulate scripted events. Different scenarios can be created and selected in the main screen.
Scenarios can be renamed by changing the name in the menu.

Move down
Right clicking on the scripts provides the following options:
- Show same source only: show events which contain the same source object. Example: show all elements with "Upper Tank".
- Show same action only: show events which contain the same action object.
- Show all
- Copy: copy one or several events.
- Paste (in any scenario)
Hint: The order of events is important; Pumpsimâ„¢ will execute each event in order. In the example below, the pump will run at different speeds depending on the tank water levels (80% between 2m and 3m, 90% between 3m and 4m). The order of events can be changed by moving events using the arrows or the keyboard arrows.
Add/Edit Events
Events:
- At: the event will happen at a specified time.
- Above/below: refer to the water level of a tank. Can be set using percentage or height.
Actions:
- Start/stop a pump or demand node.
- Open/close a valve or pipe.
- Change the speed of the pump. Caution: it does not start the pump.
- Change the opening percentage of a manual valve.
Click to select an object on the screen. It will exit the selection after clicked.
